Every detail counts with simple & natural architecture. Textures and colors are especially important. For example, see the summer cottage at left. The simple textured surface and beams transform a dull ceiling into something with life. While the natural cream colored walls visually support the ceiling.

Harmony with Nature

Natural detailing or "biomimicry" and harmony with location are important for simple & natural design. Much of the cabin's (at right) charm derives from gently sitting among trees and mimicing the sheltering quality of adjacent branches with an open soffit.

Bringing in Light

Light is vitally important to life, and critical for amimating an environment of simplicity. Even a small breakfast nook is transformed with sunlight into a focal point for daily living and family activity.

Large windows and French doors emphasize indoor outdoor living and a sense of connection with the surrounding garden.
