and won the Grand prize for the Midwest Home Awards in all categories.

Middle Row Left: Also featured on the cover of Remodeling Magazine is
the project's gourmet kitchen. The
clients were expert cooks with young children and needed a real gourmet
kitchen that was also kid freindly. Todd Remington designed the kitchen
to include zones of activity. The dangerous fire zone was placed at the
end of the kitchen and recessed into a tile arch. All cabinets and equipment
inside the recess are stainless steel. The prep zone includes the center
lowered island for child participation.

Middle Row Center: After
a day or playing in the gourmet kitchen, its time to eat. On more formal
occasions, family and friends sit down to eat in the restored dining room
(pictured left). Coffee and tea after meals is served in the adjoining
sunroom seen beyond.

Middle Row Right: The
original Arts & Crafts home can be seen at left in the adjacent photo.
Todd's addition is the entire wing to the right including the lower garage
and patio. The design also restored the interior and exterior of the original
structure.
