A Scottish Country Home

On a 2 1/2 acre grassy knoll facing snow capped peaks, this home was designed as a grouping of cottages around a protected outdoor family space.

Photo at Top: Although the area needs were fairly large, the client wanted this home to be unobtrusive and cottage like. Todd Remington's solution was to break the home into separate cottages each with well defined functions. The separate buildings were then used to frame a protected outdoor area for gatherings and family fun.

Photo Lower Left: The garden house and garage at left are connected by trellis, while the "couples" cottage at right has an enclosed connector.

Photo Lower Center: The large family kitchen features painted cabinets and honed black granite.
